The recent low in our Hanoi price sample is $5, while the median is $31. The median falls within the $100 target, so the midpoint of the prices we observed is also within budget. Your actual dates, room type and provider can still produce a different price.
Yes. The lowest 4-star price in our recent Hanoi searches was $20 per night, which falls within the $100 target. That is the lowest price we observed for the category, not a standard 4-star rate. Search your dates and check the room details before assuming the same price will be available.
Yes. Tay Ho covers a large part of the area around West Lake and can be a practical hotel base when several stops on your itinerary are in that part of Hanoi. It is separate from the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem area, so check how often you expect to travel between them before choosing the hotel. The location itself does not tell you whether a room is good value.
It can be. Ba Dinh contains the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex and several other major historic sites, including the One Pillar Pagoda and the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long area. If those places are central to your itinerary, a hotel nearby can reduce some cross-city travel. That does not make Ba Dinh the right location for every Hanoi trip.
Only if the rail lines match your itinerary. The operational Cat Linh to Ha Dong metro corridor serves parts of Hanoi west and southwest of the historic centre, but it does not run through the Old Quarter or to Noi Bai Airport. A hotel beside a metro station can be useful for trips along the line, but station proximity alone does not make it the best location for a visitor.
